Memoirs of A Steel Magnolia’s Journey From Tears to Triumph

“It was Root Hog or Die”

“Momma and I rode a Greyhound Bus from Newport News on the coast, west to the mountains. The trip was not one I thought would be happy, but as we glided through that wonderful scenery, I developed an abiding love for those magical mountains….”

About Judy

Author Judy H James has been a published writer since 2002. She began her Memoirs in 2012 as spiritual healing.

She visited the mountains of her childhood from her distant home in Florida to remember, to let go and to forgive.

Her siblings always knew how to turn adversity into laughter, but rarely stopped to feel the pockets of pain that held us all back from moving forward.

Judy also sought to pay tribute to her mother who could have easily been a bitter, unhappy woman, yet still decided to be positive, happy and fully grateful as a result of her hard life.  For Judy, it was time to let go and allow her natural joy to be filled with more genuine laughter.

As an accomplished public speaker with her southern accent still in tack and her Steele Magnolia nature, Judy is available for guest appearances and podcast by request.
